Role

The Communications and Campaigns Officer will play a central role in raising awareness of unpaid carers and Carers Trust's work across Scotland. The postholder will develop and deliver engaging communications and campaigns that generate support for unpaid carers, strengthen the profile of Carers Trust Scotland, and showcase the impact of our network of local carer organisations. Working closely with colleagues across Carers Trust, including the UK Communications and Marketing Team, they will help ensure unpaid carer voice is at the heart of our communications, amplifying lived experiences and supporting campaigns that influence change.

This role is central to advancing our mission by increasing understanding of the challenges and contributions of unpaid carers and helping to build support for lasting change. Through effective storytelling, digital content, media activity and stakeholder engagement, the postholder will help ensure carers' voices are heard by decision makers, partners and the wider public. As maternity cover, the role is essential in maintaining continuity and momentum across our communications and campaigning activity during a key period for the organisation, ensuring we continue to raise awareness, influence policy and demonstrate the impact of our work across Scotland.

As the postholder you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Carers Trust - including working closely with our UK Communications and Marketing Team - to deliver effective communications and campaigns in Scotland in line with Carers Trust’s strategic plans.

  • Support the planning and delivery of annual campaigns, including Young Carers Action Day and parliamentary activities.

  • Have a lead role in co-ordinating the day-to-day of Carers Trust Scotland’s online/digital communications.
