Role

This is a new role to unlock the potential of support from community and commercial sources.

We are seeking someone with an ambitious can-do approach to focus on raising unrestricted funds from three funding strands:

  1. Businesses
  2. Community groups
  3. Challengers using fundraising platforms such as JustGiving and Enthuse

Refuweegee is celebrating its tenth year of welcoming forcibly displaced people to Glasgow, and broader Scotland.  We are a small team of six full-time staff and nine part-time staff welcoming approximately 1,000 visitors to our space every week.

Our visitors depend upon Refuweegee as a welcoming and supportive environment that provides essential material help, emotional stability, social connection and a sense of dignity.

We work hard be a place of belonging, emotional safety and friendship for people. Our work has always been driven by community demand: we adapt to what people need and want.

Refuweegee is recognised as an effective pathway to integration, confidence-building and social participation: we are a sanctuary for forcibly displaced people.

We are here for everyone, no questions asked. This wholly inclusive approach is a deliberate act to build bridges between communities.

We care for our visitors, and we care for our staff. We constantly review well-being and professional development and provide group training and individual opportunities.
