£15,246 per year - 21 hours per week. Core Hours: Mon, Tues, Weds 9 – 3.30 pm, Thurspday 9 – 1.30 pm. Flexibility for occasional ad-hoc cover on a Friday is desirable but not essential.

Role

Are you a welcoming and organised administrator passionate about social justice and ready to use your skills to create a safe, supportive space for people seeking safety in Glasgow?

Govan Community Project provides a holistic range of support for individuals and families in the asylum and refugee community. 

We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and efficient Operational Assistant who can be the welcoming first point of contact for visitors to our Govan office and provide administrative support across our team. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has prior experience in a reception or administrative role 
  • Can create a safe and welcoming environment for all office visitors
  • Is confident in their ability to communicate with individuals experiencing language barriers with patience and empathy  Is confident in handling telephone enquiries , signposting callers to relevant staff/external services  
  • Has excellent organisational and time management skills to manage generic inboxes and support colleagues with administrative tasks 
  • Possesses a basic understanding of the challenges faced by members of the asylum and refugee community. 
  • Feels confident to support volunteer receptionists with onboarding and rota schedules.
