Please note in regards to location this role is based Kirkcaldy and travel will be required across Fife (Travel Expenses Paid)
The Kirkcaldy Salvation Army Community Church, in partnership with the Glenrothes and Cowdenbeath Salvation Army centres, is an active expression of the church’s mission. Together, they provide welcoming spaces for food, conversation and connection with the local community.
Key Responsibilities: As Cook, you will lead the preparation and provision of food for lunch clubs, coffee mornings, warm spaces and other activities, working alongside committed teams of officers, employees and volunteers.
Working closely with Corps Officers and named responsible persons, you will create menus that respond to customer needs, while making thoughtful use of purchased and donated provisions to help reduce costs and minimise waste.
Successful candidate will have:
- Good knowledge and experience of preparing and serving food and use of kitchen tools and equipment.
- Have up to date knowledge of food hygiene requirements and ability to complete all relevant record keeping.
- Proven experience of dealing with the general public and providing good customer service.
- Hold a current Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake qualification & complete within an agreed time.
- Must have a current driving licence and access to a car.
