Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Group Support Facilitator to help people bereaved by cancer access meaningful support, guidance and connection.

About the Role 

Beatson Cancer Charity is looking for an experienced and empathetic Group Support Facilitator to join our Bereavement Support Service. Working as part of a psychologist-led team, you will support people who have been bereaved by cancer. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Conducting triage and assessment of new referrals. 
  • Undertaking risk assessments and making appropriate onward referrals. 
  • Supporting the delivery of ACT-based bereavement group programmes. 
  • Providing pre and post-group psychosocial support and coaching. 
  • Using validated assessment tools to plan and evaluate support. 
  • Maintaining accurate records and outcome data. 
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and contributing to service development.

About You 

You will be a compassionate professional with experience supporting individuals and families affected by long-term health conditions and emotional distress. You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field (Health, Psychology, AHP, Nursing, Social Sciences, Counselling, CBT) and possess excellent communication, assessment and relationshipbuilding skills. Experience in bereavement support, cancer care, ACT-based approaches or group facilitation would be advantageous.
