Role

The Trustees of Development Coll are looking for a highly motivated, experienced person to be Coll’s Community Development Officer.

The post is funded through the Strengthening Communities Programme (SCP), a Scottish Government programme managed by the Development Trusts Association Scotland.

Remit:  There are 5 outcomes for this 3-year post:

1. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT  

  • Increased community engagement with DC.  
  • Action Plan created for next steps beyond this 3-year post.

2. HOUSING 

  • Community has better understanding of its housing needs and the options to proceed in filling them.

3. RENEWABLE ENERGY

  • An Cridhe and Coll Bunkhouse have improved and additional sources of renewable energy.
  • The community has a better understanding of large-scale renewable energy options.

4. AN CRIDHE AND BUNKHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS

  • Development Coll understands the options and costs of adapting An Cridhe and Coll Bunkhouse to better meet the needs of the community.

5. COMMUNITY TRANSPORT

  • The community has knowledge of improved transport provision options for the island. At least one improved transport option to be operational, if feasible.
