Role

We are recruiting a Housing Assistant to join our friendly, professional team at our Whitefoord Residence in Edinburgh. 

Scottish Veterans’ Residences (SVR), offers a dynamic housing support service to assist our HM Forces Veterans to return to independent living where appropriate. This is a pivotal role. We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic professional to deliver intensive housing management and support services to our Veterans. We are Scotland’s oldest military charity with an array of resources at our disposal to support former Armed Forces and Merchant Navy personnel, who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or who otherwise need housing support. 

We seek to maximise their independence and provide support to move on to appropriate, permanent accommodation wherever possible. Veterans have their own fully furnished ensuite room and access our onsite support and facilities. These include a communal dining room, communal lounges, a gym & and laundry. 

To fulfil our Vision and Mission, you will embed our Values to deliver the safety, health, comfort, and welfare of Veterans in line with the Care Inspectorate’s Health and Social Care Standards. You will register with the SSSC and either hold or be working towards an SVQ2 in Housing, Health and Social care, or equivalent.

You will also have an understanding of the supported housing sector, have at least 2 years experience in Tenancy Management and Enforcement and be able to demonstrate a track record of contributing to high quality services. You are reliable, consistent, focused, and flexible in both your outlook and approach. This post is 37.5 hours per week over a repeating 4-week rota. In return, we offer an excellent salary of £27,833 plus additional benefits, pension and a generous holiday entitlement.
