Role

Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) is the National Development Body for Scotland’s museums and galleries. We support a sector of 452 museums and galleries, through strategic investment, workforce development, advice, and advocacy. We are a forward facing and inclusive organisation, committed to the ongoing development of a positive culture for our team.  

We are looking for an Operations and Compliance Assistant to provide administrative and operational support within our Resources team. With a varied workload, this post supports all aspects of business and facilities administration; and processes which support compliance of the MGS SQA Assessment Centre. This role is part of a Resources team with a strong focus on business improvement, delivering core activities which support sustainability across the organisation

You will bring strong organisational and administrative skills, a collaborative approach, and experience supporting business and compliance processes. You will be a clear and effective communicator with a strong customer focus and the ability to problem-solve and use initiative. The successful candidate will manifest MGS’s core values: collaboration, integrity, passion for museums, and courageousness.  

We have a hybrid working approach and are happy to talk flexible working. While this role is designed as a full-time post, we would be open to considering a minimum of 28 hours per week. The postholder will ideally work a Friday to ensure team cover across the week. For this role we are looking the postholder to attend the office in Edinburgh a minimum of two days a week, for effective office and facilities support.
