Role

Established almost 40 years ago, HIPY is a Youth Information Project based in Hamilton. We are looking to expand our team by recruiting a full time development worker to work on our new Generation Verified; Informed Young Voices Project.

Generation Verified; Informed Young Voices will work with young people to create information and content relevant to their needs and interests. It’s a project for young people, led by young people with critical thinking at its forefront. The development worker will recruit young people to create content across social media channels (including podcasting) to create information that is accessible, relevant and reliable. It is an innovative project that will help young people develop skills for the future as they will be involved in every step of the creative process, acting as writers, editors, producers and presenters. Generation Verified; Informed Young Voices came about through consultation with young people who expressed concern about the increase of misinformation, use of AI and an inability to find reliable information. We aim to tackle this head on, working with young people to myth bust and provide a reliable, relevant source of information. We appreciate that young people bring a different voice and perspective, which is invaluable to making our work a success. All issues will be identified and actioned by young people, with all content created and verified by young people.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working creatively with young people. It is a dynamic new role, working with young people to take action on issues important to them. You will use a Youth Work approach and have experience of building positive relationships with a diverse range of young people, helping them build their skills and confidence.

If you are up for the challenge and would like to work with a dynamic team, we would love to hear from you!

Please note evening and weekend work will be required.

What We Offer

• 30 days annual leave.

• One special leave day to celebrate your birthday.

• 10 Public holidays.

• Flexible working (where appropriate).

• 3% employer pension contribution

• Access to learning and development opportunities.

Application notes

Closing date for applications is 5pm On Monday 7th September 2026.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 23rd September 2026.
