Role
We are looking to recruit a confident and committed individual to lead our Energy team. The right person will bring together our staff working on a fair transition away from fossil fuels to publicly owned renewable energy, in pursuit of our strategic aim: to phase out oil and gas production in line with 1.5C and ensuring a just transition, led by and for, affected workers and communities.
The Energy team is made up of campaigners, organisers and activists, as well as communications and political colleagues. You will provide direct line management to some team members, and leadership, support, and coordination for areas of join work across the team. You will liaise with the Communications Manager and Policy and Advocacy Manager to bring in support from their areas.
You will also support the Head of Campaigns in the strategic development of campaign plans and objectives and be responsible for supporting and coordinating delivery of those plans within the team.
This role includes project management of a potential high-pressure piece of strategic litigation in relation to our campaign to stop a new gas-burning power station and carbon capture plant at Peterhead. This is a key piece of work in a long-running campaign with involve working closely with the Head of Campaigns and FoES board.
If you think you are a fit for this role, you can find more information about it in our recruitment pack or by emailing us at recruitment@foe.scot.
