Future Woodlands Scotland

Charity registered in Scotland SC043508

Future Woodlands Scotland is a charity working to create a Scotland where people and nature thrive.

Founded in 2012 to fund innovative thinking for trees and native woodlands, we’ve grown to offer programmes that help farmers and landowners plant or restore native woodlands. Today, our work spans rural and urban spaces, from research to action. Through the power of trees, we believe we can create lasting change for Scotland.

Our vision is a Scotland where trees and native woodlands are thriving for our wildlife, communities and climate.

Our mission is to protect, create and restore woodlands. We do this by building skills, sharing knowledge, and transforming urban and rural landscapes through meaningful partnerships.

Since 2012, we’ve grown from supporting research into native woodlands to leading national programmes that restore ancient woods, grow skills, support local nurseries, and bring trees into everyday spaces.
