Role

We are inviting applications for an exciting opportunity to step into a Band 6 Charge Nurse role. We have 1 permanent role available (33.75 hours) and 1 maternity leave cover role available (33.75 hours).

As a Band 6 Charge Nurse, you will:

  • Provide supportive leadership and act as a role model.
  • Line manage staff and contribute to creating a positive, safe working environment.
  • Influence and support ongoing service developments within the unit.
  • Help ensure the highest standard of care for patients.
  • Work a day/night rotation as part of the team.

Job Summary

As a Charge Nurse, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of healthcare professionals, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment where every team member feels valued and empowered. Your role will involve line managing a team, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to our patients and their families.

The Charge Nurse has the ability to demonstrate specialised knowledge and expertise in palliative care, as well as a genuine commitment to enhancing the quality of life for patients facing serious illness. Your compassion and empathy will be essential as you support patients and their families through challenging times, providing comfort, reassurance, and emotional support.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will play a key role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within our hospice unit. Your leadership and dedication will be instrumental in driving positive change and ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care throughout their journey.
