Justice Support Worker - AYE Service
Sacro
Part time
Hybrid: South Lanarkshire/Glasgow (home and hub)
£26,288 - £28,497
Contract Type: Fixed Term / Part Time (Fixed term to 30 June 2027 with possible extension.) Hours per week: 18.75
Closing 8 May 2026
Advertised from 27 April 2026

Role

Sacro’s mission is to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our recently recommissioned AYE service.

The service supports individuals through 3 referral pathways, Arrest Referral, Diversion from Prosecution and Bail Supervision. We take a trauma informed approach to justice and encourage recovery and community integration. The service supports those using assertive outreach and as such you will be supporting individuals within their own communities to build their support network and social capital.

The service will support individuals from South Lanarkshire who have problematic substance use. We work in partnership with South Lanarkshire ADP, South Lanarkshire Justice Social Work, Police Scotland and multiple other fantastic third-sector services.

You will assist in the delivery and development of the day to day running of the service under the direction of the Team Leader and Community Justice Manager. You will be involved in the assessment and appropriate support of individuals accessing the service, this will include community based and home visits. You will be responsible for the management of data relating to the people we support and liaison with other agencies.

All posts require the ability to use initiative and organise workload within a pressurised environment. Knowledge of the Justice system, problematic substance use, homelessness and the complex needs that those leaving prison may face is necessary. Knowledge of services available in South Lanarkshire area would be an advantage. Relevant experience within Justice services as well as partnership working is desirable. The successful applicants will be flexible and proactive in their approach and sensitive and confident in their ability to assist those who access the service.

We are eager to receive applications from those who are in recovery themselves or have lived experience in the Justice System. As a mentoring based role, Sacro sees the value in those who have lived experience supporting individuals.

Experience in Social Care would be beneficial. A relevant qualification at SVQ level 3 or equivalent is desirable but not required as training will be provided.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) will be a requirement for this post along with a Level 2 Disclosure Check and satisfactory references.

This support will cover occasional Sundays and will at times be out with normal business hours, you must be prepared to commit to this. Working week will include possible evenings and weekends. Working days to be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

A driving licence will be required and access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance.

We offer some great benefits including 31 days annual leave allowance, family friendly and flexible working policies. We offer excellent training and development opportunities and a good pension scheme with 8% employer contribution.

If you share our values and want to help us to support people and make a positive change in their lives, please contact us.

Should you wish to have an informal discussion in relation to this post please contact Michael Cooke on 0141 248 1763.
