Role
Are you interested in joining a dynamic and vibrant team who play a vital role in supporting individuals and communities to become more connected and resilient?
We are looking for team players with great communication skills and with experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds. You will have a good knowledge of health and wellbeing, in particular loneliness and social isolation.
We are seeking an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Social Inclusion Team at Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action. We provide people who are lonely, socially isolated and / or vulnerable with the information, guidance and practical support they need through multi-layered and diverse levels of early intervention.
You will be a community-minded individual with a passion for engaging with people, organisations and communities to support their development and contribute to bringing about positive change. To do this, you will promote and encourage volunteering, build capacity of groups and organisations through a range of guidance topics, identify training opportunities and evidence-based interventions and share good practice.
You will have an overall understanding of the local landscape in terms of community groups, support services and challenges that communities may face in Dundee. You will be confident in approaching and engaging with communities to assess needs and identify gaps in service provision, and assist in the development of sustainable initiatives together with local partners. A proactive and innovative approach to identify person-centred and community-driven solutions will be most welcome and fit well with the teams shared outcomes.
Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action strives to be an Equal Opportunities Employer and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
If you think you could drive forward this area of work and want to make a difference to social inclusion from social isolation across the communities of Dundee. The successful candidate will be subject to a PVG check.
Application notes
Subject to a satisfactory PVG and references.
The deadline for submitting applications is 5.00pm on Tuesday 21st April, 2026
