Role

Glasgow Association for Mental Health is one of the principal providers of community mental health services in Greater Glasgow. We currently have a vacancy for a new role within our Community Hub. The Hub provides a welcoming and safe space for people with mental health issues and delivers recovery-based services which promote personal growth, community inclusion, and wellbeing.

Key Skills:

This is a hands-on role where you will plan and deliver tasty, nutritious meals, while supporting and supervising volunteers and trainees to build skills, confidence and experience in a welcoming kitchen environment. You’ will play a key role in minimising food waste by creatively using surplus food, managing a small Community Fridge and delivering occasional cooking sessions and food for in house events.

It is important that you have extensive catering experience and appropriate qualifications in food hygiene and kitchen health and safety. You must also be able to demonstrate skills and confidence in leading others in a busy kitchen. Just as importantly, you will bring warmth, patience and a commitment to inclusion, recovery and community wellbeing to the role.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to visit the Hub prior to interview.

GAMH aims to promote equality of opportunity in service delivery as well as in employment practice. To achieve this, we positively welcome applicants from all sections of the community. Accordingly, if you have any requirements regarding your application, please contact Laura Middell on 0141 552 5592.

Appointment is subject to receipt of two satisfactory references. All staff will have Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership/Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check completed before any contact with people who use our services.
