About Us
Independent Advocacy Perth & Kinross is a values-driven, rights-based organisation providing independent advocacy to individuals across Perth and Kinross. The Role
We are seeking someone with motivation and commitment to improve the experience of children and young people affected by the Children's Hearing System. The role is on a permanent basis, and you will join a friendly team committed to upholding the rights of people in many settings. Being an independent advocacy worker is rewarding and requires working directly with individuals who may be experiencing mental health issues, learning disabilities, or other vulnerabilities, ensuring they are supported to express their views and make informed choices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one independent advocacy in line with the Scottish Independent Advocacy Alliance (SIAA) Principles and Standards.
- Support individuals to understand and exercise their rights.
- Attend meetings with or on behalf of individuals (e.g., care reviews, tribunals, hospital discharge planning).
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with professionals and partner agencies.
