Role

Would you like to join a vibrant, exciting team working alongside families and volunteers in North Glasgow?

Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire is a charity making a big impact on families with young children (under 5) in the local area. We are now excited to welcome a new, confident, passionate, and enthusiastic Family

Group Worker to our team who will support the expansion, promotion and delivery of groups in North Glasgow.

Home-Starts across the UK work alongside families in their own homes and in communities to help them through challenging times. We support parents through 1:1 volunteer support and groups helping them to cope with the

stresses and strains of life and make sure they have the skills, confidence and strength they need to nurture their children. We provide a listening ear, and our non-judgemental, compassionate, confidential support offers a vital

lifeline to parents and helps ensure children have the best possible start in life.

Day-to-day the Family Group Worker will be welcoming families into a warm and inclusive space, helping to build strong relationships and attachments through tailored play activities. They will nurture children’s growth and development, offer empathetic support, provide practical help, and guide families to local services when needed. Working across various venues in North Glasgow, they will create a safe, supportive environment where families feel valued and connected.

The role is funded for one year with the possibility of extended funding.

Do you have what we are looking for?

  • Creative personality and passionate about working with children and families
  • Experience of planning and delivering groups for families with young children
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft)
  • Team player but ability to self-motivate and inspire others
  • A car driver with access to a car
