Treasurer

The Junction - Young People, Health and Wellbeing
Management Board
Hybrid: Edinburgh
Closing 28 November 2025
Advertised from 20 October 2025

Role

Are you interested in supporting a small local charity? Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of young people?

If so, apply now to join our Board of Trustees!

About Us

The Junction is an award-winning charity that supports and improves young people’s health and well-being.

We work with young people aged 12 – 21 in North East Edinburgh. Our vision is that all young people thrive, with access to the right support and resources that meet their health and wellbeing needs.

About The Role

The Treasurer will assist and advise the Board of Directors on issues related to finance. The position works in partnership with members of the staff team who deal with much of the day-to-day financial business, predominantly the Director and Finance Officer. All Trustees collectively play their part in financial monitoring and decision making at The Junction.

Within the role you will contribute to Finance Sub-Groups (meeting roughly 4 times per year in advance of a Full Board Meeting). You will also share Finance Papers at full Board Meetings which take place 4 times per year. You can join in-person or online.

About You

We are looking for committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is an incredible opportunity to make a difference to The Junction, to young people and to build your own skills.

A key requirement for the position is that you have experience of managing finances for a board, for committee, or for an organisation. Applications from qualified accountants and those with experience within the finance sector would be very welcomed but this experience is not essential to the role.

Ability to ask questions, share and uphold our organisational values (inclusive, non-judgemental and collaborative) and having the time commitment for the role is also key to the role.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds. We are working towards becoming an anti-racist organisation and we are interested in applications from people who are Black, Asian or from minority ethnic communities.

We also interested in applications from people who live the community in Leith/North East Edinburgh and/ or have lived or living experience of poverty, substance-use or poor mental health.

Application notes

Please submit a CV and/or a cover letter to [email protected] telling us:
