Freelance Counsellor

Role

MND Scotland is the only charity in Scotland dedicated to supporting people with MND, their families, and friends.

Since being founded over forty years ago, MND Scotland has provided practical, financial and emotional support to anyone affected by MND whilst also funding essential research into finding effective treatments and a cure.

Everything we do and the way that we do it puts the MND community at its core.

We are looking for qualified and experienced counsellors to work with MND Scotland on a freelance basis. Counsellors will deliver 1:1 online or telephone counselling sessions, supporting people with distress related to MND. Clients will be people living with an MND diagnosis, carers and family members, and bereaved carers. Ideal candidates will have experience supporting people living with a terminal illness, and working with loss, grief and bereavement. Training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is preferred but not essential.

Counsellors will be paid £50 per 60-minute session. Currently counselling sessions are conducted remotely.
