Role

Play Therapy Base is a children’s mental health charity established in 2011. Our Midlothian based service offers Play Therapy Services to children aged 3 to 14 years old and their families living in the Lothians. Children accessing the service may have experienced loss and separation of main carer/s, early years trauma or a traumatic event, family illness, bereavement, volatile parental relationships or have an additional need that makes day to day life challenging.

Play Therapy sessions offer a child centred, nondirective support, where children can make sense of their world through the natural medium of play with the support of a qualified Play or Creative Art Therapist.

We are losing some existing board members over the next few months as the come to the end of their time in role. Therefore, we are now looking for 3-4 new Board of Trustees to join us. Our Trustees are key to our service, and we value the life and professional skills they bring to the role.
