Role

Make a Difference as a Trustee at Moving On Inverclyde

Do you care about people’s recovery journeys? Are you keen to help shape a local charity that makes a real difference in Inverclyde?

We’re looking for new trustees to join our board and support us in guiding Moving On Inverclyde into its next chapter. This is an opportunity to use your skills, passion, and ideas to help people affected by alcohol and drugs rebuild their lives.

About Us

At Moving On Inverclyde, we support individuals aged 18 and over who are affected by substance use. Our work is rooted in compassion, respect, and empowerment. From one-to-one support and counselling to group programmes, accredited training, and peer volunteering, we walk alongside people as they take steps forward in recovery.

Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, making sure that everyone who comes through our doors is welcomed, heard, and supported in a way that works for them.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from people who can bring fresh perspectives and skills to our board. In particular, we’d welcome experience in areas such as:

• Finance and governance

• Fundraising and income generation

• Safeguarding and HR

• Mental Health and Wellbeing

• Lived experience of recovery or supporting others in recovery

But most importantly, we’re looking for people who share our passion for creating a stronger, healthier Inverclyde and want to make a difference in their community.

What Trustees Do

As a trustee, you’ll:

• Help guide our strategy and ensure we stay true to our mission and values.

• Support our CEO and staff team by providing oversight and direction.

• Champion our work in the community and help raise awareness.

• Contribute your skills and experience to strengthen the charity’s future.

• Attend board meetings and play your part in key decisions.

Why Join Us?

Becoming a trustee is a chance to:

• Make a positive, lasting impact on people’s lives.

• Be part of a welcoming, committed team of staff, trustees, and volunteers.

• Learn more about charity governance and leadership.

• Help shape the future of a well-respected local charity at an exciting stage of growth.

Application notes

Interested?

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including those with lived experience of recovery. Board experience is helpful but not essential — we’ll support you to develop your skills and grow in the role.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we’d love to hear from you. Please send us your CV and a short note about why you’d like to join the board and what you can bring to the role.

Join us in building stronger futures. Become a trustee and help us support recovery across Inverclyde.
