Role

Maggie’s Dundee

The Maggie’s Centre in the grounds of Ninewells Hospital is a warm, welcoming place where people with cancer and their friends and family can find support groups specific to their needs and get advice and information from professional staff. Maggie’s can help people with cancer make positive changes to their lifestyle and get psychological and emotional support which has been shown to significantly reduce anxiety and depression. No appointment is needed and the support is free.

Maggie’s is a charity and the centre in Dundee costs around £750,000 per year to run. This money is raised by the Centre Fundraising Team and the Local Associate Fundraising Board, chaired by Mrs Shirley Linton, MBE. There are currently vacancies for Fundraising Board Members.

Fundraising Board Committee Members will work closely with the Fundraising Board Chair, the Centre Fundraising Manager and wider Maggie’s teams. We are looking for people who are well connected, have influence in their local communities and a wide range of experience.

The Committee is supported by the Centre Fundraising Manager who manages the annual fundraising budget together with the committee.

As a committee member you will bring a willingness to learn about the work of Maggie’s and work towards the growth of fundraising for the Dundee Centre and the Charity more widely. The Committee Members will use their specific skills, networks and experience to collectively reach decisions about the individuals and companies we approach, events we run and fundraising activities we undertake.
