Role

Who we are

Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project (KASP) supports adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse throughout Fife by providing counselling, responsive one-to-one support, befriending, and group work. KASP is funded by Fife Council, Scottish Government, Lottery, MARAC, Henry Smith Foundation and donations.

We are seeking new Trustees to help guide our organisation’s strategic direction and ensure our services remain effective and sustainable. This is an opportunity to contribute to a cause that directly improves lives, while helping to shape the future of counselling and support services in Fife.

What we’re looking for

We welcome applications from people of all genders who have:

  • A genuine interest in supporting survivors of childhood sexual abuse
  • The integrity, judgement, and commitment required of a charity trustee
  • A willingness to devote time and energy to the role
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and to speak up when needed

While all skills and backgrounds are valuable, we are particularly interested in trustees with experience in:

  • Fundraising – supporting the Manager in identifying, developing, and supporting income-generation opportunities
  • Policy development – shaping, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies. Updating policy in line with legislation
  • Finance and budget oversight – assisting the finance sub group in overseeing KASP finances and reporting back to the Board.
  • Strategic planning – supporting the Manager to ensure the KASP Strategic Plan is up to date.
  • Quality assurance and monitoring & evaluation – ensuring that the work we do is captured and we are able to report positively on all services offered within KASP
  • Equalities and inclusion -
  • Legal compliance and governance
  • Counselling, support and befriending services

What you’ll gain

  • A chance to make a tangible difference to survivors’ lives
  • Opportunities to expand your professional network
  • Skills and experience in charity governance and strategy
  • The satisfaction of contributing to a valued community service

No prior experience as a trustee is necessary—training and information will be provided to help you understand your legal duties and responsibilities.

Application notes

If you are interested in joining KASP as a trustee, in the first instance, please contact Joy (Manager) for an informal conversation. Joy can be contacted on 01592 644217 or joy@kasp.org.uk

We welcome all enquiries, even if your skills aren’t listed above but you share our commitment to supporting survivors
