Since our founding in 1989, our team of over 300 dedicated professionals has been empowering and supporting more than 200 individuals each week, providing over 8,000 hours of critical care and support. We strive to promote independence and enhance the quality of life for those we support.

Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of ELCAP. During your initial period, a key task will involve reviewing our finance processes and department, presenting an exciting opportunity to enhance systems and drive innovation. You will oversee key financial functions, including account management, invoice processing, and payroll oversight and report directly to and work collaboratively with the CEO and the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Lead and manage bookkeeping and payroll functions, providing training and support as necessary.  
  • Review and optimise our finance processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.  
  • Prepare and process journal entries on Sage to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.  
  • Generate monthly management accounts and analyse reports to inform the CEO and Board of Directors.  
  • Conduct budgeting and forecasting to support strategic planning initiatives and ensure financial sustainability.  
  • Drive improvements in financial practices and guarantee compliance with regulatory standards.  
  • Liaise with external auditors to facilitate a seamless audit process.  
  • Oversee cash flow management and conduct thorough bank reconciliations.  
  • Manage and process accounts and payroll 
  • Mentor and guide finance department staff, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.  

Qualifications and Skills  

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience will be highly regarded.  
  • Professional qualifications such as CA or ACCA are advantageous.  
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software are essential.  
  • Proven experience in finance or accounting roles is required.  

Desirable Criteria

  • Familiarity with health and social care sectors.  
  • Cultural competence and the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities.
