Our Highland team is looking for an Access and Engagement Worker to help us bring high-quality, compassionate support to people affected by alcohol or drug use, all delivered remotely.

Job Description
This is a brand-new service model in the NHS Highland area, offering a blend of web-based and telephone support to ensure people can get help wherever they are, even without reliable internet. You’ll be part of a small, forward-thinking remote team supporting individuals through one-to-one sessions and virtual group work, all designed to break down barriers to accessing care.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Empathetic, approachable, and skilled at building trust remotely
- Creative in how they engage people from all walks of life
- Comfortable using digital tools to connect and communicate
- Ideally familiar with the NHS Highland region and the challenges people may face accessing support

You will strive to work collaboratively with partners and communities, ensuring that we are as accessible as possible and that the principles of a Recovery Oriented System of Care and true person centred practice are at the heart of all that we do. An SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Health care and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is essential for this post.
This is a full time, permanent position with a salary of £25,000 per annum. This post will be hybrid with travel for meetings required to develop pathways for clients and engage with key stakeholders. This role involves evening and weekend work in addition to office hours.

Essential Skills
We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people. You will also be organised with excellent time management skills.
To be successful in this role you will:
- have attained SVQ level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent
- already be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or meet the registration requirements
- have some experience of working in a health, social care, or related setting
- have some experience of delivering services in a community setting
- have knowledge and understanding of delivering evidence-based interventions
- have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
- be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
- able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion and be happy to support other With You locations when needed
Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances. We welcome applications from those with lived experience.
You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced PVG check.
