Role

We are looking for a talented and passionate youth worker. Our perfect candidate would be someone who is fearless in championing the rights and potential of young people, no matter the background or barrier. Our youth workers are key to our success, and so we need people who really care and are ready to support all young people toward a bright future.

The perfect candidate will have a strong understanding of the principles of youth work and safeguarding. They will meet young people where they’re at, and support them to make decisions that help them grow, challenging them to step outside their comfort zones when appropriate. They will listen closely to young people – both what they say and what they do – and work hard to meet individual need. They will have a clear idea of professional boundaries, and will strike a balance between professional and pal.

They will also believe in and be ready to champion Scran Academy. They will work with a clear line to our values base and vision, and support organisational development and direction. They will form strong working relationships with colleagues, and contribute as part of a team to be as powerful as possible in supporting young people.

Role Purpose

This is a dynamic and exciting role supporting the delivery of our work across multiple projects. Working as part of a talented staff team, the Youth Development Worker will be responsible for planning and delivering exceptional youth work activities and foster strong engagement, supporting programmes that provide empowering and meaningful experience for young people and their communities

Application notes

To apply to this role please send your CV and a cover letter of no more than 500 words saying why you are the best fit for the job to will@scranacademy.com no later than 9am on the 25th July.
