Role

Edinburgh Community Food (ECF) is looking for a dynamic and compassionate Food Insecurity Resource Coordinator to strengthen how local organisations and frontline workers respond to food insecurity with dignity.

This new role is part of a Scotland-wide initiative supported by the Scottish Government to improve responses to food insecurity and financial resilience. It will lead on developing and delivering engaging, practical training and resources for staff and volunteers working in community settings. You’ll work with local partners across Edinburgh, including Menu for All members, to co-design relevant content that supports people affected by poverty and financial hardship.

The role builds on our existing Cash First Toolkit and contributes to a national Learning and Resource Centre delivered in partnership with CFINE, Glasgow Community Food Network and Lanarkshire Community Food and Health Partnership.

What You’ll Do

  • Inform the design of and pilot new training sessions that help organisations respond to food insecurity with dignity and confidence.
  • Build relationships with local partners to align training with real needs and referral pathways.
  • Create and adapt practical tools and resources based on ECF’s Cash First Toolkit.
  • Promote the programme across city networks and support shared learning nationally.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll bring experience in community development, training, or public health and a passion for equity, inclusion, and practical change. Whether your background is in health, education or the third sector, you’ll be a confident communicator who enjoys developing relationships and making an impact.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a small, committed team working to make good food accessible for all. We offer a supportive and flexible working environment, with opportunities for learning and collaboration across Scotland.
