Kids Operating Room is an ambitious and growing international organisation working to transform access to life-changing surgical care for children in countries where specialist treatment is often out of reach. By partnering with local healthcare systems and supporting the delivery of essential paediatric surgery, the organisation helps children receive the care they need, while contributing to stronger and more sustainable surgical capacity. With a strong track record of impact, an entrepreneurial approach and ambitious plans for the future, Kids Operating Room is now entering an exciting phase of growth and development, creating an opportunity to significantly extend its reach and long-term impact.

The organisation is now seeking a new Director of Fundraising to lead the next phase of income growth and development. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for developing and delivering a diversified fundraising strategy across major donors, philanthropy, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, and legacy giving.

Working closely with the CEO and Founders as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director will personally contribute to income generation, building relationships, making asks, opening networks and identifying new opportunities, while leading and developing a high-performing fundraising team. A key priority will be maximising transformational support from philanthropists, high-net-worth individuals and corporate partners, while developing new and sustainable income streams, including a strong legacy programme.

The Director will play an important role in creating an organisation-wide culture of fundraising, ensuring opportunities are maximised regardless of where relationships originate. They will work collaboratively with the CEO and Founders on key donor relationships and fundraising opportunities, while providing clear leadership, direction and support to the fundraising team. The role will also involve working closely with the Communications team to strengthen Kids Operating Room’s brand, profile and supporter engagement. The Director will help develop compelling fundraising propositions, identify opportunities to raise awareness of the organisation’s work and explore new approaches to ambassador and supporter engagement.

To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced senior fundraiser with a strong track record of generating significant income and building meaningful relationships with donors, partners and supporters. You will combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and be confident personally developing relationships, making asks, opening doors and pursuing new opportunities.

You will be an inspiring and collaborative leader, with the credibility to engage high-net-worth individuals, corporate leaders and senior stakeholders. Experience across multiple fundraising disciplines will be important, ideally including legacy giving, alongside a proven ability to develop teams and work effectively with founders and senior leaders. An entrepreneurial, resilient and opportunity-focused approach will be essential.
