Role

Make a Difference for people bereaved by murder culpable homicide & suicide

PETAL Support is seeking dedicated and values-driven individuals to join our Board of Trustees to help shape the future of our work supporting people bereaved by murder, culpable homicide & suicide throughout Scotland

As a Board Member, you will:

  • Provide strategic direction and governance for the charity
  • Ensure the organisation remains financially sound, ethical, and sustainable
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity and its mission
  • Contribute to key decisions that impact people bereaved by murder & suicide

This is a voluntary, unpaid role, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from individuals with skills or experience in:

  • Finance or accounting
  • Legal or governance
  • Health and social care
  • Lived experience of murder & suicide
  • Fundraising, communications, or digital
  • HR, people management, or organisational development
  • Younger people & children

Time Commitment

Approximately 5 board meetings per year, plus occasional sub-committee or development sessions.

Who We are

PETAL Support is a registered charity for those bereaved by murder, culpable homicide and suicide living in Scotland. Founded in 1994 PETAL Support provides practical and emotional support, advocacy, support and counselling for the families, friends, children and young people of murder, culpable homicide and suicide victims.

Support includes: 

  • A range of Face-to-Face therapeutic counselling including CBT & EMDR
  • Clinical Aromatherapy
  • Volunteering Opportunities
  • Group work
  • Fundraising Events
  • Social Interaction
