Role
FEL Scotland is looking for a Family Support Officer - Sustainable Transport.
This role will focus on supporting families and building referral pathways with schools, employability services and community partners to ensure families can access joined-up support from FEL Scotland and other organisations. Taking a family-focused approach, you will work directly with families, parents and carers to provide practical, short-term transport solutions and make individuals aware of other support available to them. Working closely with our School Active Travel Hub Officers, you will help those who want to work or undergo training but are held back by transport problems.
This role has three main aims. You will help parents get to work or training by solving transport problems; support wider child poverty reduction by improving family income and stability; and generate learning about what transport support works and how it can be embedded in future services.
We are looking for someone with strong people skills and the ability to work sensitively with families and understand the challenges they may face. Experience linked to employability, family support, transport access, schools or community hubs would be valuable, but we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds.
You will be based mainly in schools and community settings across Clackmannanshire and Falkirk, working closely with School Active Travel Hub Officers, employability services and family support partners. You may occasionally work evenings or weekends to support families.
We offer a supportive and flexible working environment, generous annual leave, pension contribution, training opportunities and family-friendly policies.

To apply, please send us your CV and a supporting statement of no more than 500 words explaining your interest in the role and what you would bring.
