Role
Health in Mind is a leader within Scotland offering support and counselling for survivors of trauma.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Development Worker to support people who have experienced historic forced adoption practices in Scotland.
We are seeking a part-time (1 day per week) Development Worker to support in the delivery of our Historic Forced Adoption Services. The Development Worker will facilitate peer groups, events and wellbeing workshops which will support people, including mothers, fathers, adult adoptees and other family members, who’ve experienced historic forced adoption practices.
This post requires work to take place in a varied way, with groups taking place in the community and online. There is some homeworking possible. Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet the needs of the people that we support.
We are seeking applicants who:
- Have experience of designing and delivering workshops, peer groups and events.
- Have strong group facilitation skills and boundaries
- Have experience of working with people who have, or personal lived experience, of trauma, complex trauma, adoption and/or historic forced adoption practices
- Are compassionate, community focused and inclusive
- Is able to work independently and autonomously, as well as part of a team
