Role

Ceartas Advocacy provides Independent Advocacy to adults and people aged over 16 living in East Dunbartonshire. We prioritise working with people who have particular support needs. We strive to ensure that the views and opinions of individuals are heard and respected affecting, in a positive way, the lives of people using our service.

We are seeking a Chief Officer to provide strategic leadership, drive positive change, and ensure Ceartas continues to deliver meaningful impact for the people and communities we serve.

About the role

As Chief Officer, you will:

  • Provide clear, confident leadership and strategic direction across the organisation
  • Work closely with the Board to deliver our vision, mission and long‑term strategy
  • Lead, inspire and support a skilled staff team and partners through collaboration and trust
  • Ensure strong governance, financial sustainability and organisational performance
  • Act as an ambassador, building relationships with stakeholders, funders and commissioners

Who we’re looking for

You will be a values‑driven leader with:

  • A proven track record of senior leadership, ideally in the third, public or community sector
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to turn vision into action
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels
  • Experience of governance, financial oversight and organisational development
  • A collaborative, compassionate leadership style that brings out the best in others
  • A commitment to equality and human rights
