Role
The Scottish Government describes food insecurity as a lack of access to adequate or appropriate food due to a lack of resources. Addressing food insecurity in the local community and in Glasgow more broadly is one of our key charitable objectives.
Currently, we operate a food pantry that provides surplus/recovered food at heavily discounted prices. We also operate a number of food programmes in partnership with local partners to improve access to healthy, nutritious food for the community. In recent months, thanks to funding from the National Lottery, we have set up a fruit and veg market pilot to offer a wide selection of quality fruit and vegetables at affordable prices. We are currently hiring a Co-ordinator to work with the Managing Director and lead and deliver our food security programmes at our Pantry Hub in Wester Common. This is a full-time position. Weekend and occasional evening work will be required.
