Role

Circle is a registered charity working at the heart of communities across central Scotland. We work with families facing multiple disadvantages because of structural inequality, poverty, drug and alcohol use, imprisonment, physical or mental health, trauma, abuse and loss. We believe that every child, no matter their background or circumstances, should have the support they need to live a happy and healthy life.

We are seeking a Family Wellbeing Practitioner to join the Harbour Project in Edinburgh, delivering compassionate, relationship-based support to birth parents whose children are permanently fostered, adopted, or living in kinship care.

This rewarding role involves providing trauma-informed, one-to-one support that helps parents improve their wellbeing, strengthen relationships, and better understand their children’s needs and experiences. Working closely with partner agencies, the practitioner will also help parents access community resources and reduce isolation and stigma.

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic professional with a qualification in social work, social care, education, or health, and experience supporting families using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, a strong understanding of child development and the challenges facing vulnerable families, and a commitment to collaborative, anti-discriminatory practice. This is a meaningful opportunity to be part of a supportive organisation dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families.
