Role

Our Learning and Engagement division works in close partnership with audiences and collaborators to support people, plants, and the planet. Through sharing the work of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, we foster nature connection and help participants grow their skills. With a rich mix of programmes reaching learners, visitors, and communities, we hold a wealth of valuable data that we’re keen to harness to better monitor, improve, and promote our impact.

2026 marks a milestone year, bringing the conclusion of a major five-year project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF), alongside the development of new strategies for both the organisation and our division. To support this, we’re seeking an experienced evaluator to consolidate existing data, identify gaps, and collaborate with our teams to build clear, user-friendly systems for future evaluation.

This role involves producing a comprehensive evaluation report for the NLHF project—covering capital, interpretation, learning, and engagement strands—and designing a new framework of tools and processes informed by team feedback and project learnings. The ideal candidate will bring strong research and reporting experience, excellent data and project management skills, and a structured, detail-oriented approach. Confident and collaborative, you’ll build positive relationships across the organisation, ensuring stakeholders have the insights they need to track progress and shape future work.
