Role

Renfrewshire Carers Centre is a one stop shop for unpaid Carers operating in Renfrewshire for almost 30 years. We are a charity established by Carers for Carers and have developed a range of services to support carers in their caring role and provide opportunities to have a life outside of caring.

We are looking for a part-time Finance Officer (3 days a week- 21 hours) to join us – someone to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial management of the charity. This role is key in supporting the Centre Manager and the Board of Trustees. The salary for this position is £31,624 (pro-rata).

Reporting to the Centre Manager you will ensure our accounting systems and procedures are compliant with accounting rules.  

Responsibilities:

  1. This role will involve preparing management accounts, balance sheets and other financial information on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in a timely manner and liaise with the Auditors to ensure that our annual accounts are completed within the required timescales 
  2. Preparing and presenting financial reports to the Centre Manager and the Board as required, you will prepare payroll data for our accountants to run the payroll as well as the internal financial administration & external invoicing/payments arrangements.
  3. Assisting the Centre Manager and the Board of Directors to meet all legal and financial requirements of the charity and ensuring full compliance with Charity Accounts and regulations and the Companies Act 2006
  4. You will be responsible for reconciliation of control accounts and regular review of normal ledger, debtor and creditors. You will oversee all income and expenditure.
  5. Prepare annual budgets and liaise with team managers to forecast spend for grants.
  6. Assist with the preparation of Funding applications and mid-year reports. 
  7. Assist Centre Manager with reviewing contracts to obtain best value for money.

 

Who are we looking for:

We would like you to have proven experience of a similar role to include experience of financial management, budgeting & forecasting, management & financial reporting, and assisting with the preparation of management accounts.

With exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, you will have a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team. You will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel, and have experience of Xero.
