Role

West of Scotland Deaf Children’s Society (WSDCS) is delighted to be adding a brand-new role of Team Co-ordinator to guide our staff and volunteers through an exciting period of organisational review and development.

Are you an inspiring leader who can bring people together, strengthen communities, and drive meaningful change? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

WSDCS are a small, dynamic charity supporting deaf children, young people, and their families across the West of Scotland. We provide social and emotional support, build community connections, and work with partners to ensure deaf children have the opportunities they deserve. We are committed to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people, working to empower them and improve mental health and wellbeing.

About the Role

As Team Co-ordinator, you will:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to our staff and volunteers.
  • Build strong links between the team and our Board, supporting good governance and decision-making.
  • Strengthen relationships with funders, local authorities, Scottish Government, and third sector partners.
  • Ensure services are high-quality, trauma-informed, inclusive, and delivered effectively.
  • Play a key role in shaping the charity’s future by supporting our externally facilitated organisational review and implementing its recommendations.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance operational delivery with strategic influence, ensuring our organisation thrives and our communities feel supported.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • An inspirational manager with experience of leading teams in complex environments.
  • A strong communicator with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Calm under pressure, emotionally intelligent, and committed to social justice, equality, and diversity.
  • Skilled at operational planning, partnership working, and motivating people to perform at their best.

Experience in the third sector, working with hearing-impaired people, or knowledge of Scotland’s funding landscape is desirable, but not essential.

What We Offer

  • Salary: circa £37,000 (pro rata for 25 hours £26,428) per annum.
  • Hours: 25 hours per week across 3–4 days (with flexibility required).
  • Location: Glasgow-based with hybrid/home working options. (Please note: our office will relocate within Glasgow in late 2025).
  • Competitive benefits: enhanced holiday entitlement; company sick pay
  • Duration: Temporary post for initially 9 months and subject to three months’ probation.
  • A supportive, values-driven team
  • Opportunities for professional development
  • The chance to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families
