Role

We are partnering with Changeworks and Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park to deliver a new exciting 4 year project “Mobilising Community Action Scotland” (MCAS) with funding through The National Lottery Community Fund.

The overall aim of the project is to increase awareness and empower ethnic minority communities to adopt nature positive and energy saving behaviours in their everyday lives.

The Nature Officer’s role will be to lead the delivery of the Nature Connection strand of the Mobilising Climate Action Scotland (MCAS) programme, ensuring ethnic minority communities feel confident and welcome in Scotland’s natural spaces and are supported to embed nature-positive behaviours into their everyday lives.

This role will work closely with our nature partner Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, and with an ethnic minority Stakeholder Advisory Group (SAG) to co-design and deliver nature-based learning, support community capacity-building, and help increase the visibility and inclusion of ethnic minority communities in Scotland’s environmental movement. The postholder will also contribute to strategic partnership working and knowledge-sharing with wider stakeholders, including local authorities, public bodies, and national park bodies.

You will therefore require extensive experience in organising nature-based learning activities, skills in developing nature-based toolkits, newsletters, information packs etc in accessible formats, and experience in building the capacity and confidence of ethnic minority communities in connecting with nature and greenspace
