Board Trustees

Connecting Carers
Management Board
Hybrid: Inverness
Closing 6 October 2025
Advertised from 8 September 2025

Role

Connecting Carers is a vibrant and growing charity committed to supporting unpaid Carers across Highland. Our mission is to support throughout the caring journey. You can make a difference and contribute to this vital work.

We are currently seeking new Board Trustees to join our organisation. Trustees play a critical role in shaping the future development and governance of our services.

Guided by our values of respect, compassion, inclusion, and the promotion choice and opportunity, we welcome applications from individuals with a commitment to our work across Highland. We are keen to build a diverse board that reflects the communities we serve.

As a Trustee, you'll help steer the strategic direction of Connecting Carers. You’ll be part of a dedicated team contributing to our mission to improve the lives of unpaid adult and young Carers across Highland — ensuring our services remain relevant, responsive, and resilient in a changing world.

Trustees are not just governance figures — they are champions, advocates, and ambassadors. Whether you're an experienced Trustee or considering your first board role, this is a chance to make a genuine and lasting difference.

We value impartiality, equality, fairness, passion, and commitment in our Trustees. We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups and individuals with knowledge or experience in areas such as the third sector, finance, funding, governance, health and social care, communications, business development, social enterprise, lived experience of being an unpaid Carer and strategic planning.

Board meetings can be attended in person which are usually in Inverness and/or remotely via Microsoft Teams/Zoom.

Hours: Variable according to the needs of the service. On average, post induction, one 2 -3 hour meeting every quarter (3 months).
