Role

Scripture Union Scotland is a national charity, with around 140 staff and over 2,500 volunteers. Our vision is to see every child and young person of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus.

We are seeking an enthusiastic administrator to fulfil the important role of supporting the volunteer application process as well as administering PVGs. This role will also provide administrative support for training courses undertaken by volunteers and staff.

Purpose

As part of the Volunteers team, to provide administrative support to both the Volunteers Department (60%) and a cross-organisational training role (40%).

Key Responsibilities

  • To administer the Volunteer application and update process
  • To administer the PVG process for SU Scotland and Associate Trusts
  • Support the operations of the Volunteers Department and the Young Leader Development Programme
  • In conjunction with the Learning Manager, administer training courses for staff and volunteers
  • Provide general administration for the Volunteers Manager and the cross-organisational training role.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking applicants with experience and proven track record in excellent communication skills in a variety of media, including telephone, written and inter-personal. Applicants for this post must be able to relate with and communicate effectively with a wide range of staff and volunteers. Strong organisational and administrative skills are essential.

For this post, it is important that you are committed to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision and can demonstrate this through your commitment and motivation. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
