Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead the development phase of a landmark conservation initiative at Inverbroom, a 7,000-hectare reserve in the Scottish Highlands. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of landscape-scale restoration, working with a passionate team and a wide range of stakeholders to deliver nature-positive outcomes for people and wildlife.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead a development project, establishing a baseline understanding of the reserve’s natural heritage.
  • Champion the long-term vision for Inverbroom: a thriving landscape of healthy uplands, native woodlands, revived rivers, and species-rich grasslands.
  • Manage project governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee contractor recruitment and delivery of key activities, including thermal drone surveys and grazing options planning.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to scope restoration, training, and engagement opportunities.
  • Support the development of follow-on funding and a robust monitoring and evaluation framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a detailed project activity plan and monitor progress against milestones and KPIs.
  • Facilitate a Strategic Advisory Group and ensure high-quality reporting to funders.
  • Lead communications and engagement with stakeholders, funders, and local communities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams across Reserves, Knowledge & Evidence, Communications, and Policy.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in project management, ideally in conservation, land management, or rural development.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing contractors and overseeing ecological or land-based projects.
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work across disciplines and organisations.
  • Passion for nature restoration and community engagement.
