Role
Epilepsy Scotland is seeking an experienced, compassionate and enthusiastic Welfare Rights Officer to join its highly successful Welfare Rights service. This includes support for assessments/consultations, appeals and Tribunals, preparing and delivering training and information to a variety of audiences.
You will be a highly motivated individual, have proven experience in welfare and benefits, have excellent communication skills and enjoy new challenges. A clear understanding of statutory welfare and benefits systems, processes and relevant legislation is essential as well as an awareness of the barriers faced by people affected by epilepsy as they attempt to access disability and other benefits.
The Welfare Rights Officer will also contribute to our policy work related to welfare benefits in Scotland. This post forms a key part of our services to people affected by epilepsy in Scotland.
