Role
Bethany Christian Centre is a supportive residential community for up to sixteen men living in a ‘dry’ house environment. In conjunction with housing support and addiction focused group work, one to one work and support from our addiction worker, we aim to provide vocational rehabilitation and specialised addiction support where requested.
We are looking for a Deputy Manager who will assist and act on behalf of Centre Manager to maintain the Centre as a safe environment for residents and seek to meet the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of the service users, helping them rebuild their lives and prepare for independent living, through promoting the highest standards of care and support in the provision of a professional Christian service.
Experience of working in a residential social care environment, experience of the service user group and knowledge of current legislation regarding regulation of care and protection of vulnerable adults are essential.
An SVQ3 in Care or related subject, plus a management qualification at SVQ4 or an SVQ4 in Care or a related subject, as specified by SSSC for registration at ‘supervisor’ level or a willingness to work towards such qualifications.
Main duties also include, in conjunction with the management team, ensuring that all administrative management functions are fulfilled to exact standards, including financial management, Health & Safety, relevant risk assessments, legislative requirements, office management, vehicles, maintenance, monitoring and quality assurance.
As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010. Applicants should have and be able to provide evidence of active Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require membership in the PVG scheme.
