Are you passionate about young people and policy? Can you amplify young people’s voices to decision makers? Can you communicate with and influence a wide range of people? If so, we want to hear from you.
Join our vibrant team of staff and volunteers supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex young people right across Scotland.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative person to support our policy work, raising the voices of young people to decision makers across Scotland.
Working from home, our Glasgow office and with regular travel you will:
- Create robust and well-evidenced responses to consultations, ensuring youth voice is not just incorporated but centred
- Create and continue the development of joint-up, organisation-wide policy lines stances
- Ensure LGBTYS is providing informative and useful position papers and briefings to inform wider policy decisions
- This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of LGBTQ+ policy work in Scotland and make a lasting, and sometimes life-saving, impact for LGBTQ+ young people
We want to hear from you if you have:
- At least two years’ experience of policy or policy-related work, preferably in either the LGBTQ+ or youth sectors
- Knowledge and understanding of equalities issues and the issues affecting LGBTQ+ young people, particularly in Scotland
- Ability to take complicated matters, particularly those pertaining to human and LGBTQ+ rights, and present them in digestible ways
