Role
The Citizens Advice Bureau in West Lothian have an exciting opportunity for a Project and Partnership Lead to join our highly successful team. This is a key role within the Bureau’s management team to allow smooth running of the specialist added value projects. The post holder will work with key staff in the development of processes to achieve continuous improvement in efficiencies for the benefit of clients.
The post will be responsible for line management of Project staff as specified in the management structure.
Main Responsibilities:
Project Development and Support
- Ensure Bureau’s value-added projects are achieving their targets and objectives
- Liaise with partnership organisations and be first point of contact to sustain relationships for all value-added projects
- Contribute to co-design work for national projects
- Maintain positive relationships with key funders/stakeholders
- Identify funding opportunities and complete applications as required
- Conduct PR activities to promote all Bureau services
- Work alongside other leads to ensure projects are represented and fully supported in all areas of the organisation
Staffing
- To provide staff support, supervision, appraisal and development in relation to Project staff under the post holders responsibility within the management structure
- To determine Project staff personal training requirements and develop and implement training plans to meet these needs
- To ensure Project participation in ongoing training
- To hold regular Project staff meetings and ensure discussion on all relevant Bureau matters
- Provide session support to staff when dealing with complex cases
- Monitor KPI’s and address any issues with underperformance
- To develop the team with a view to continuous improvement
- Ensure staff achieve and maintain quality standards which include CAS QA, National standards and other accreditation
Marketing, PR and relationships
- Liaise with members and officers of the Local Authority and participate in appropriate Council groups as required by attending relevant meetings as delegated by the Deputy CEO
- To represent the Bureau in local networks as and when required
- To promote and market the work of the specialist projects to heighten local awareness of the specialist service available and ensure their take up is improved on and ongoing basis
- To liaise and maintain links with appropriate statutory, voluntary and professional bodies
- To contribute to and participate in the activities of the CAS and to represent the Bureau as required
- To maintain and develop the Bureau’s role and relationship with CAS and other agencies
- Conduct PR activities as required
Reporting
- Provide project performance reports to the Board
- Ensure completion of funding reports for all external funders
- Liaise with Finance manager regarding budget spends of projects, and flag any difficulties
Other duties and responsibilities
- Carry out any other tasks that may be within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the projects
- Demonstrate commitment to the aims and policies of the service
- Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues

Essential
- Experience of line management of staff and projects
- Experience of project and staff development
- Ability to motivate and influence staff positively
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for achievement of qualitative and quantitative targets
- Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and manage concurrent demands
- IT literate and able to prepare reports and submissions
- Ability to establish, develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability and willingness to work as part of a team
- Ability to monitor and maintain standards.
- Maintain positive organisational ethos and strong team working attitudes
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Evidence of CAB training/qualification
- Experience of voluntary sector work
