Role

Epilepsy Connections exists to ensure that everyone with epilepsy has the support, resilience, and respect they need to live life to the full. Every year, our Epilepsy Fieldwork Team supports hundreds of people to understand their epilepsy, manage their condition, and navigate the challenges that epilepsy can bring.

We provide a wide range of support, including:

• Practical information about epilepsy, seizures, treatment, seizure triggers, and lifestyle considerations.
• Help with managing epilepsy at home, in education, and at work.
• Emotional support to help people adjust to and cope with living with epilepsy.
• Assistance with benefits, housing, and social welfare issues.
• Liaison with epilepsy specialist clinics and healthcare providers.
• Signposting to appropriate services and resources.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced self-starter to join our Greater Glasgow & Clyde Fieldwork Team. Working in an advisory capacity, you will support adults and children with epilepsy, including those with difficult-to-control epilepsy, additional disabilities, or those experiencing social isolation.

You will also provide advice and information to families, carers, employers, and professionals in health, social care, education, and housing. This is a rewarding and varied role where you will make a real difference in people's lives.

In the coming year, a key priority for the Fieldwork Team is to reconnect with local communities and referral partners. You will play an active role in building relationships with new referrers and engaging with community-based organisations to help us reach more people who could benefit from our support.

About You

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience of providing information, advice, or support in a health, social care, or welfare setting.
• A person-centred approach and the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse individuals.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.
• A good understanding of the challenges of living with a long-term condition.
• The ability to work independently, manage a varied caseload, and prioritise effectively.

Knowledge of epilepsy is desirable but not essential — we will provide comprehensive training and ongoing support from our experienced team.

Additional Requirements

• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable for community-based work.
• PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) membership will be required.
