About the service
Cyrenians are opening an exciting new 4-bedroomed recovery house for women leaving rehab and are looking for a dedicated Female Peer Worker to help shape and deliver this vital service. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the foundation of a new project that will provide safe, supportive accommodation to women as they rebuild their lives in recovery.
About the role
As a Peer Worker, you will use your lived experience of recovery to foster hope, build trust and empower women to move forward. You’ll offer one-to-one and group-based peer support, helping residents develop the practical, emotional and social skills they need for sustainable recovery and permanent housing.
This is a person-centred role, where your insight and empathy can truly make a difference. You will work closely with residents to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes health, wellbeing and self-belief. As part of this role you will:
- support the women to access health, housing and wellbeing services.
- be expected to always uphold professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Be required to participate in training and continuous development
About you
We are looking for a proactive and passionate person with lived experience of recovery. We are looking for someone who:
- Is confident in their own recovery journey with strong links within the recovery community
- Understands the barriers women face when leaving rehab and navigating recovery
- Is reliable and has excellent communication skills

How we’ll support you
You’ll be part of an experienced, knowledgeable team, with a supportive manager, who will help you develop and grow in your role. You’ll also have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning programme, and staff wellbeing services.
