Qualifications and Experience

 Applicants should have:

  • An understanding of SVQ Programmes and Assessors Qualifications.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a Support Practitioner role
  • The post holder will have a minimum of SVQ III in Health and Social care qualification and Assessors Award (L&D 9DI, previously A1) or be willing to work towards an assessor award within an agreed time scale. The post holder will also be expected to take an Internal Verifier (IV) role and as such be willing to undertake relevant IV qualification (L&D11)

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Establish and follow systems and procedures.
  • Able to think analytically and turn this into work programmes and goals.
  • Able to work on own initiative and be proactive.
  • Able to problem solve.
  • Able to support other managers and staff in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Team building and ability to foster a learning culture.

Desirable (Training and support will be given):

  • Skilled in networking, joint working and building relationships and ability to initiate contacts at senior level and with key partners.
  • Able to develop and implement training programmes.
  • Able to implement monitoring and recording systems.
  • Good knowledge of databases for recording SVQ progress and staff training.
  • Skilled in project management and monitoring its progress.
  • The ability to design and present training

This position is office based, and the successful applicant would be expected to work from either the London Road office in Edinburgh and/or the Maritime House office in Dundee.
