About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Youth Work Coordinator to lead and grow our creative and empowering Youth Work Programme. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality, culturally responsive and youth-led projects that support young people of colour across Scotland.
Within this role, you will oversee programme delivery, manage staff and facilitators, develop new youth-led activities, and build strategic relationships to expand our reach. From youth clubs and studio sessions to issue-based workshops and school outreach, this is a dynamic role requiring creativity, empathy, and leadership. What You’ll Do
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day delivery of our Youth Work Programme.
- Support and line-manage Youth Work Officers and freelance facilitators.
- Plan and develop new youth-led activities in collaboration with young people.
- Oversee programme planning, budgeting, evaluation, and reporting.
- Promote the programme to schools, youth organisations, and communities.
- Safeguard the wellbeing of participants as programme safeguarding lead.
- Build partnerships that strengthen programme delivery and impact.
- Work collaboratively across IYS to connect young people to wider services.

What You’ll Bring
To be considered for this role you should be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experiences:
Essential:
Experience of working directly with young people from diverse backgrounds
Experience of mentoring young people one to one
Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills
At least 2 years’ experience managing youth-focused or education-based projects
Practical skills in youth work in at least 3 of the following areas:
Games/Sport/Physical Activity
Creative Arts/Drama/Music
Digital
Life Skills/Employability
Youth Voice/Participation/Young Leaders
Issue-based youth work (e.g. drugs, sexual health, homelessness, young offenders)
Experience evaluating youth work and maintaining monitoring records
Proven planning, budgeting, and impact reporting experience
Experience reporting to funders and external partners
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience delivering skills development and youth projects
Commitment to anti-racism, inclusion, and youth empowerment
Line management or supervision experience
Knowledge of the challenges facing young people today
Desirable
- Experience working in or with schools
- Experience in the nonprofit or third sector
- Youth Work qualification
