Board Trustees

Dundee Bairns
Management Board
On site: Dundee
Closing 18 July 2025
Advertised from 30 June 2025

Role

We are seeking up to four new trustees to join our Board of Directors and help us achieve our vision.

Dundee Bairns was established as a charity in 2017. The charity was set up with the aim of alleviating holiday hunger and ensuring that no child in Dundee should ever go hungry.

Over the last 8 years our mission has broadened to reduce the damaging impact of child poverty on Dundee children and families. Our vision is that all children in Dundee will have their basic needs and rights fulfilled and have the opportunity to achieve their potential, regardless of their circumstances. We strive to preserve and strengthen the dignity of children in need.

Dundee Bairns is a flexible, agile and responsive charity, working to support some of the most vulnerable children in Dundee, supporting many community projects, school groups and services to make sure that no child goes without.

Applicants do not need any prior experience of being a trustee, as we will provide a full induction. Trustees are responsible for the overall governance of Dundee Bairns along with the Chair and the rest of the Board, ensuring we are working to our vision and upholding our values.

We believe diversity and different viewpoints are key to a successful organisation and we welcome applications from individuals from all backgrounds. Trustees do not need to have to worked with children – just have a genuine interest in supporting Dundee Bairns and the children, families and communities we serve, helping them succeed and thrive.

To bring additional skills and expertise to the Board, we are seeking applications from dedicated individuals from wide-ranging and diverse backgrounds including those with a background in law, finance, business, marketing, fundraising and the voluntary sector.

Trustees are not paid for their time but reimbursed for travelling to quarterly Board meetings.
